The 2019-2020 school year begins on Monday, August 12, 2019. The Washoe County School District requires that students have current immunizations to enter school. Beginning in the 2017-2018 school year, the meningococcal vaccine (MCV4) will be required for all 7th graders and new students enrolling in grades 7 through 12. This vaccine is required in addition to the Tdap vaccine. For additional school immunization information, refer to "Immunizations" on the Washoe County School District website. For immunization information from the Washoe County Health District, refer to "Childcare, School, and College Immunization Requirements." If you cannot locate immunization records, contact your health care provider, visit Nevada WebIZ, a statewide immunization registry, or call Nevada WebIZ at (775) 684-5954. 2019 Reno Area Community Immunization LocationsThose with insurance should bring their cards, including Nevada Check Up and Medicaid. Bring your child's shot records.

More Washoe County and Nevada Vaccination InformationAppointments are required for vaccinations at the Washoe County Health District, and can be made by calling (775) 328-2402 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The Nevada Vaccines for Children Program helps provide vaccines to children whose parents or guardians may not have insurance to cover the cost. These vaccines protect babies, young children and adolescents from a variety of diseases and is a benefit that's available until your child turns 19.
