Mira Loma Park in southeast Reno is a big facility with lots to do, including playgrounds, sports fields, picnic areas, restrooms, an RC car track, and a big skatepark. A highlight for many is the urban trail that goes around the perimeter of the park. Mira Loma Park is a City of Reno facility. Mira Loma Urban TrailThis urban trail is paved and ADA accessible. It is flat for the entire 1.2 mile length. It makes for a pleasant stroll any time weather permits. Walking / hiking and bicycling are permitted on this trail. If you want to make this walk into more of a workout, there are fitness course stations along the way where you can engage in various exercises. There are shade trees along the west side, providing some relief from the heat during summer. The northeast section of the trail is next to Boynton Slough with its cattails and birds. Like many other area public parks, Mira Loma Park attracts a regular contingent of Canada geese. They are fun to see, but unfortunately leave a poopy mess in their wake. Watch your step if the geese are grazing. Refer to Reno's Mira Loma Urban Trail information sheet for a map and additional details. Parking and Directions to Mira Loma ParkMira Loma Park is located at 3000 S. McCarran Boulevard, at the corner with Mira Loma Drive. The south parking lot is accessed from Mira Loma Drive. A north parking lot, next to Rattlesnake Mountain Skate Park, is accessed from northbound McCarran. There is lots of parking between these lots and it is free.
