Bartley Ranch Regional Park has restroom facilities, four group picnic areas, individual picnic sites, a horse arena and warm-up arena, 56 acre scenic pasture, and trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The grounds feature a display of historic ranch buildings and equipment. There is no fee to enter the park and there is lots of parking. Note that Bartley Ranch Park does not have a playground and it is not a dog park. Pets must be leashed when visiting the park. Bartley Ranch Regional Park is a great place if you want to enjoy a walk or picnic, relax in the shade, and learn about local history at the Western Heritage Interpretive Center and old Huffaker Schoolhouse. It's a good place for such things as family get-togethers and picnics. You can also enjoy a variety of concerts and events at the Robert Z. Hawkins Amphitheater. Robert Z. Hawkins Amphitheater at Bartley RanchThe Robert Z. Hawkins Amphitheater is one of the best outdoor show venues in the Reno area. It is the site of numerous concerts and other activities throughout the year, including presentations by Reno's Artown during July. The facility is built into a hillside and accommodates 403 people seated and about 600 on a grassy slope behind the fixed seats. An excellent stage, lighting, and sound system make attending an event here a real treat. For more information or to reserve the Robert Z. Western Heritage Interpretive Center at Bartley RanchThe Western Heritage Interpretive Center hosts various exhibits throughout the year and is available for parties, ceremonies and meetings. Historic Huffaker School at Bartley RanchThe Huffaker Schoolhouse was built in 1867 on land donated by Granville Huffaker, one of our area's original settlers. The school's appearance, with a red roof and painted white, is as it was in the early 1900s. It was moved to its location in Bartley Ranch Regional Park in 1992. The Huffaker Schoolhouse has modern amenities (A/C, lighting, heating, restroom) is available for weddings, meetings, and performances. Visiting Bartley Ranch Regional ParkBartley Ranch Regional Park is at 6000 Bartley Ranch Road. It's about a mile south of S. McCarran Boulevard on Lakeside Drive, then a left turn into the park. There are signs and you will see the covered bridge you drive over to enter Bartley Ranch Park. After crossing the bridge, the Huffaker Schoolhouse and a parking area are immediately to the right. Continuing on the main road will take you to additional parking, the Western Heritage Interpretive Center, Robert Z. Hawkins Amphitheater, and other features in the park.
