North Lake Tahoe SNOWFEST! - March 2 - 12, 2023. SNOWFEST is a ten day winter festival supporting local non profits, public programs, student organizations, and educational scholarships. Just a few of the events include the Tap Haus Block Party, SnowFest Fireworks, Polar Bear Swim, Tahoe City Dog Pull, Milk Jug Curling and Wine N Ice Competition. Located in Tahoe City and King's Beach.

Discover Science Lecture Series at UNR - Thursday, March 2, 2023, 7 p.m. In 2012, David Wineland won a share of the Nobel Prize in Physics for his work in quantum physics. He worked at the National Institute of Standards for 42 years studying atomic clocks. His research interests are currently focused in application of quantum physics. Learn how atomic clocks and quantum physics fit into our everyday lives. This lecture is at the UNR Davidson Mathematics and Science Center, 1664 North Virginia Street in Reno. It's free, but you are requested to register to attend.

Come in from the Cold Family Entertainment Series - Saturdays, March 4, 11, 2023. "Come in from the Cold" is held on Saturday evenings in the Western Heritage Interpretive Center at Bartley Ranch Regional Park in Reno. These family-friendly shows provide welcome relief from the frosty weather during the depths of winter. The 2022 series is in January, February, and March. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. with performances starting at 7 p.m. Seating is limited to 200, so arriving early at this popular event is a good idea.

Gardening in Nevada: The Bartley Ranch Series - Tuesday, March 7, 2023. This free class is titled "Pruning and Training Fruit Trees," presented by Certified Arborist and Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Michael Janik. He will discuss the basics of fruit tree pruning, pruning to maximize production and more. Classes are in-person from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bartley Ranch Regional Park. Other Tuesday classes this month are on on March 14, 21, 28.

Hands ON! Second Saturday at the Nevada Museum of Art - Saturday, March 11, 2023. Come to the Nevada Museum of Art for fun for the whole family, including storytelling, art activities, live performances, and all current exhibits. The theme this month is "Super Sculptors." Admission to the Museum is free for all on Second Saturdays.

Reno Leprechaun Crawl - Saturday, March 11, 2023, 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. The event draws people from all over the country and beyond, making it one of the largest bar crawls in the world. 20+ different participating downtown bars, nightclubs and restaurants, all in walking distance and no cover charges. Lots of beer and drink specials and giveaways. Visit the website for information about pre-purchasing cups, a list of participating venues, and specials on crawl night lodging.

Annual Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry - Saturday, March 11, 2023, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Go up to Virginia City for this popular event. Cooks from around the west fry, smoke or grill these delectable concoctions in a way that will make you forget what you're really eating. Dress to impress in your most festive or outlandish St. Patty's Day garb. The Ball Breaker Saloon Crawl is part of the festivities, along with a St. Patrick's Day Parade starting at 12 noon.

A Night of Pi - Saturday, March 11, 2023, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Come join us for a fun evening out with amazing food. A Night of Pi features a raffle, silent auction, and John Potter (from KKFT, 99.1FM) running our live action. Don't forget our amazing wine grab and dessert auction. Give a Dog a Bone Pet Food Drive & Charity Concert - Saturday, March 11, 2023, 6 p.m. Feeding Pets of the Homeless is hosting its first ever Give a Dog a Bone Pet Food Drive & Charity Concert at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall in Carson City. Feeding Pets of the Homeless seeks to alleviate some of the already harsh pressures faced by those in need, by helping their furry friends in need. Leprechaun Race 5K Run / Walk - Sunday, March 12, 2023, 8:30 a.m. The race runs through the Midtown and Wells Avenue districts. It is family friendly. This is a great first 5K for new runners. Costumes are encouraged. You race against a leprechaun and if your time is faster than hers, then you will earn a special prize. For every runner and walker who the leprechaun beats, the leprechaun's pot of gold will grow in size as a benefit for the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum. Online registration is available.

24 Hour Play Festival from Reno Little Theater - March 17 - 18, 2023, 7:30 p.m. This is an exciting experience is unlike anything happening in the Reno theatre scene this year. Reno Wine Walk - Saturday, March 18, 2023, 2 p.m. The Riverwalk Merchants present this fun event every third Saturday of the month. Visit any of the participating start locations with $30 and receive your wine glass and hand stamp (with photo ID), then make the rounds sampling wines at numerous businesses in the area. You can also purchase tickets online. This is a 21+ event. Pets and strollers are not advised. For more information, call 775-825-WALK(9255).

Reno Women's March - Saturday, March 25, 2023, 12:30 p.m. Join us for the 7th annual Reno Women's March, where we celebrate The Power of One - for each and every one of us to make a difference. We will be honoring 3 amazing women who did just that and left a lasting legacy on our community: Amanda Davis, Mylan Hawkins, and Evelyn Mount. The March starts at the Bruce R. Thompson Courthouse and Federal Building, marching at 1 p.m. to Believe Plaza to learn from speakers and enjoy entertainment. Immediately after at 2:30 p.m., a Community Action Fair will be hosted at the Downtown Reno Library, where attendees can meet with and learn from dozens of non-profit organizations in our community.

Discover Your Parks Free Walks - Enjoy in-person Discover Your Parks Walks during 2023. The first is on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Sun Valley Regional Park. The next on April 29 at Rosewood Nature Study Area. Visit the web page for a full list. Attendance is limited and you must register to participate. If you would rather, you can virtually visit several popular parks and trails with guided hike presentations available from "Virtual Guided Hikes" on the TMPF website.

Reno Expo 2023 - March 29 - April 2, 2023. This big event is actually 5 shows for one ticket. All will run simultaneously at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, 4590 S. Virginia Street in Reno. Admission is only $10 for all five shows. $8 for seniors 60+ and $6 for kids under 12. 6 and under free. Wednesday - Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Reno Aces Opening Day 2023 - Friday, March 31, 2023. The Aces play the Las Vegas Aviators at Greater Nevada Field, first pitch at 2:05 p.m.

"Expedition: Dinosaur" at the Wilbur D. May Museum - January 14 through April 30, 2023. An interactive exhibit at the Wilbur D. May Museum at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park in Reno. This exhibit will feature 11 animatronic dinosaurs, interactive excavation stations, and a fossil stamp scavenger hunt. Special group rates are available. This will be an exhibit of Jurassic proportions. The entry fee is $10 for adults, $9 for children 3 to 17 and seniors. Kids under 3 are free. Hours at the Wilbur D. May Museum are Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 12 noon to 4 p.m. The museum is closed on Monday and Tuesday.

WinterWonderGrass California - Friday through Sunday, March 31 - April 2, 2023. This event is at Palisades Tahoe. It's a winter bluegrass music and craft beer festival featuring over 20 bands, over a dozen breweries, and food and food trucks. This is a family-friendly event with activities for kids. The venue is the Village at Palisades Tahoe ski resort, south of Truckee off Highway 89.
