Groundhog Day - On Monday, February 2, 2026, Punxsutawney Phil will see his shadow, or not. Depending on which way it goes, Phil's 100% accurate powers of prediction will indicate an early spring or six more weeks of winter. Free Classes about Gardening in Nevada - Bartley Ranch Series - Beginning on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 and continuing every Tuesday through March 31. Learn from experts about growing a vegetable garden and other plants in northern Nevada. At Bartley Ranch Regional Park in Reno, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. 2026 City of Reno Junior Ranger Program - Wednesday, February 4, 2026, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. This program is a fun way for participants of all ages and abilities to connect with nature, learn new skills, and enjoy the great outdoors in our beautiful parks. Some of the events will be hiking, touring the nature gardens at Valleywood and Idlewild, basic bike safety and maintenance, fishing, stargazing, and more. Come in from the Cold Family Entertainment Series - Saturdays, February 7, 14, 21, 28, 2026. "Come in from the Cold" is held on Saturday evenings in the Western Heritage Interpretive Center at Bartley Ranch Regional Park in Reno. These family-friendly shows provide welcome relief from the frosty weather during the depths of winter. The 2026 series is in January, February, and March. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. with performances starting at 7 p.m. Seating is limited, so arriving early at this popular event is a good idea. Junior Ranger Day at Bartley Ranch - Saturday, February 7, 2026, 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Join us at Bartley Ranch Regional Park where we'll talk about northern Nevada's native birds of prey. From ospreys to owls, from falcons to vultures, we'll learn who's who in the skies above our farms, fields, parks and playgrounds. Event is free but pre-registration is required. "Toytopia" at the Wilbur D. May Museum - through April 26, 2026. Both grown-ups and kids will enjoy "Toytopia." It is inspirational for children and adults who can revisit fun times from childhood. This popular exhibit features everything from tried and true classics to modern digital games, with highlights like those listed here, and more. Don't just look at toys, play with them, too. Special group rates are available. The entry fee is $13 for adults, $11 for children 3 to 17 and seniors. Kids under 3 are free. Hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 12 noon to 4 p.m. The museum located in Reno's Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. Super Bowl LX (60) Parties - Super Bowl Sunday 2026 is on Sunday, February 8. It will be played at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, CA. There are lots of big parties in the Reno area where you can enjoy food, drink, and cheer for your favorite team with lots of other fans. The half-time show will be headlined by Bad Bunny. Free history presentations from Historic Reno Preservation Society - Sunday, February 8, 2026, 12 noon. "A Taste for History: Discovering Untold Stories about the Region's Food." A visual history of local food and drink and the stories that surround them. Presented by Sharon Honig-Bear. Location TBD. Second Saturdays at the Nevada Museum of Art - Saturday, February 14, 2026. Come to the Nevada Museum of Art for fun for the whole family, including storytelling, art activities, live performances, and all current exhibits. This month's theme is "Love in the Lunar New Year." Admission to the Museum is free for all on Second Saturdays. Heart Beat of Reno Festival - Friday through Sunday, February 13 - 15, 2026. 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Friday, 5 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Come celebrate love at the Heart Beat of Reno Festival, a three-day Block Party extravaganza featuring over 45 of Reno's best house DJs, interactive art and activities, local vendors, delicious food, much more. Five venues on E. 4th Street in Reno. Visit the website for details. Valentine's Day Dining and Activities - Saturday, February 14, 2026. There are romantic Valentine's Day dining opportunities available, along with other fun things to with your sweetheart. President's Day - Monday, February 16, 2026. Schools, libraries and government offices will be closed. This is also a free entrance day to our National Parks and many other public lands areas. Reno Wine Walk - Saturday, February 21, 2026, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Riverwalk Merchants present this fun event every third Saturday of the month. Visit any of the participating start merchants with $30 and receive your wine glass and hand stamp (with photo ID), then make the rounds sampling wines at numerous businesses in the area. Social Science: Hungry Games - Saturday, February 21, 2026, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. May the odds be ever in your favor when you take part in a variety of activities inspired by the popular dystopian series including a bow-and-arrow contest, Hunger Games trivia battle, creating a medicine parachute, designing a custom Tribute, and more. 21+ event. At The Discovery Museum, 490 Center St. in Reno. Tickets available online. Advance ticket purchase strongly recommended for this popular event. Ice Skating at the Grand Sierra Resort - season ends on Sunday, March 31, 2026. Ice skating is also available at the Jennifer M. O'Neal Community Ice Arena is south Reno. North Lake Tahoe SNOWFEST! - February 26 through March 8, 2026. SNOWFEST is a ten day winter festival supporting local non profits, public programs, student organizations, and educational scholarships. Just a few of the events include the Tap Haus Block Party, SnowFest Fireworks, Polar Bear Swim, Tahoe City Dog Pull, Milk Jug Curling, SnowFest Street Fair, Wine N Ice Sculpture Competition and lots more. Located in Tahoe City and King's Beach. Washoe County Library Book Sale - March 21 - 29, 2026. Sales are in the book store next door to the Sierra View Library in the Reno Town Mall. This is your chance to get big bargains on books and other media while supporting your Washoe County Library System. Sale hours are every day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Preview day for Friends members is on the Friday before each sale period, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. If you aren't a member, you can join Friends at the door.
