Reno Veterans Day Parade - Monday, November 11, 2024, starting at 11:11 a.m. The Reno Veterans Day Parade marches along Virginia Street through downtown Reno. November Junior Naturalist Program - Saturday, November 16, 2024, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join us for "Cure Your Curiousity" at Rosewood Nature Study Area. Junior Naturalists will explore citizen science with games and activities to review what we learned this year. The program is free, but you need to register online. Girls on the Run - Sierras - Saturday, November 16, 2024. The 5K course (3.1 mile) is at Procter R. Hug High School in Sparks. Tipsy Turkey Wine Walk - Saturday, November 16, 2024. The Riverwalk Merchants present this fun event every third Saturday of the month. In November, it's themed for Thanksgiving and costumes are encouraged. Register online or visit any of the start locations with $30 and receive your wine glass and hand stamp (with photo ID), then make the rounds sampling wines at numerous businesses in the area from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. This is a 21+ event. Wobble Before You Gobble 10K / 5K / 1 Mile Walk - Thursday, November 28, 2024, 9 a.m. The race event will begin at 9 a.m. on Arlington Street next to Wingfield Park. Participants will make their way through downtown Reno and the nearby parks before returning to the finish where they will get a finisher's medal upon completion. Peanutcracker - The Story in a Nutshell - Sunday, December 1, 2024, 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Peanutcracker is a shorter, 45-minute narrated version of The Nutcracker that is designed for families with younger children to introduce them to the wonderful world of ballet and the traditional holiday ballet, The Nutcracker. The shortened ballet with its glowing Christmas tree, the Rat King's battle scene, Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy and animated narration has proven to be very popular with audiences of every age. "Little Miss Buttcracker" from Bruka Theatre - December 6, 7, 11 - 14, 18 - 21, 2024, 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees December 8, 15, 2024, 2 p.m. This parody of The Nutcracker ballet is a cross between Little Miss Sunshine and Dance Moms. The show has evolved into a regional cult classic, offering a different underbelly to the original ballet each year it is performed. Not for ballet purists or those with tight slippers. Recommended: 12 years and up. Tickets available online. Bruka Theatre is at 99 N. Virginia Street in downtown Reno. Jurassic Quest - Friday through Sunday, December 6 - 8, 2024.
