2024 Polar Express on the V&T RailroadThe Polar Express™ for the 2024 Christmas holiday season will visit the North Pole on select dates from November 15 through December 23. The Polar Express™ sells out every year. Get tickets as soon as possible if you want to ensure the best seats, date, and time for your family and/or group. Tickets are available online from the Polar Express website and by phone at 855-724-5102. Candy Cane Express Trains on the V&T RailroadNovember 29 - 30 and December 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 2024. There will be three trains each day departing from the Virginia City depot (166 F Street), at 12 noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. On the scenic 50-minute journey over the 150-year old V&T railroad route, you will enjoy hot cocoa or cider, candy canes & cookies, and sing-a-long carols on the festively decorated train. Santa Trains at the Nevada State Railroad MuseumSaturday and Sunday, December 7 - 8, 14 - 15, 21 - 22, 2024. Come ride the festive steam train during the Christmas holiday season at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City. You can visit with Santa aboard the train and write a letter to Santa at the "Letters to Santa" table. Buy raffle tickets supporting the Friends of the Nevada State Railroad Museum to win great prizes. Tickets are $10 for all riders; children 2 and under sitting on a lap are free. No reservations needed, but you can purchase advance tickets from the admission desk or online. Santa Trains run every half hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
More Santa Christmas Holiday TrainsSanta Trains at the Western Pacific Railroad Museum in PortolaFridays and Saturdays, December 7, 13 - 14 and 20 - 21, 2024. The museum opens at 4 p.m. and Santa trains will run from 5 p.m. to about 8 p.m., or until everyone gets a ride. Admission is $15 per carload, or $10 per carload with a donation of at least 3 non-perishable food items for the local food bank. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there, plus special exhibits and local vendors. Passengers can enjoy free coffee, hot chocolate, cider, and cookies. Except for the Santa trains, the museum is closed for the winter. For more information, call (530) 832-4131. The Western Pacific Railroad Museum is located at 700 Western Pacific Way in Portola, CA, about an hour north of Reno. Santa's Reindeer Flyer Christmas Train at the Nevada Northern Railway in ElyDecember 6 - 8, 13 - 15, 19 - 23, 26 - 29, 2024. Join with us as the most magical train of the year, Santa's Reindeer Flyer, once again heads to the North Pole to visit with Santa Claus. Everyone knows that Santa loves trains so it is only natural that you will find Santa here, on the Nevada Northern Railway. On the trip to the North Pole, we serve hot chocolate and cookies. Tickets are $45 for adults, $38 for seniors, $20 for kids ages 4 to 12, and free for children under 4. Visit the web page for train ride dates, times, and to get tickets online. The Nevada Northern Railway is at 1100 Avenue A in Ely, Nevada. Polar Express Train Ride at the California State Railroad Museum in SacramentoNovember 16 to December 22, 2024. Tuesday to Sunday departures at 3:30 p.m., 5 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. The evening begins in our passenger station where you will be entertained by Polar Express characters, and then board your train to the North Pole where you will enjoy hot chocolate and a sweet treat courtesy of our hot chocolate chefs. Once you reach the North Pole, Santa himself will come on board to give each passenger the first gift of Christmas, a silver sleigh bell.
