Guided walks through some of Reno's historic districts from the Historic Reno Preservation Society (HRPS) are open to the public. These walks (and occasional bike rides) are for you if you want to know more about Reno's colorful past and the remnants that remain scattered throughout the city.

Walking Tours in May, 2016

May 2016 tours are on various days and start at various times. You can register online for these tours or call (775) 747-4478 for more information. Tours are free for HRPS members and $10 for non-members. Registration closes the day before the tour and the fee is collected just before each tour. Pets are not allowed.

  • May 11, 3 p.m. - Inside DeLongchamps Downtown
  • May 14, 10 a.m. - Downtown Sparks
  • May 17, 6 p.m. - Upper Ralston/Northern Little Italy
  • May 21, 10 a.m. - Bike Tour Through Old Reno
  • May 24, 6 p.m. - University Neighborhood
  • May 28, 10 a.m. - Roads & Rails, Historic Fourth Street Corridor

June 2016 features a variety of historic walking tours on Tuesdays and Saturdays. You can register online for these tours or call (775) 747-4478 for more information. Tours are free for HRPS members and $10 for non-members. Registration closes the day before the tour. The fee is collected just before each tour. Pets are not allowed.

  • June 7 - Monroe Street
  • June 14 - Parsons and Mills Architecture
  • June 21 - Historic Truckee River
  • June 28 - Wells Avenue Neighborhood

Saturday Tours (start at 9 a.m.)

  • June 4 - Mansions on the Bluff
  • June 11 - Lake Addition
  • June 18 - Beyond the Arches
  • June 25 - Midtown Business District
