Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival - through August 22, 2021. Come to Sand Harbor at Lake Tahoe to enjoy Shakespeare performances and other entertainment. Classic Tahoe Festival - through August 14, 2021. Each summer, Classical Tahoe brings together America's leading classical musicians for a three-week festival of orchestra concerts on the campus of Sierra Nevada University in Incline Village, Nev. Individual and season tickets are available online.

Barracuda Championship PGA Golf - Monday through Sunday, August 2 - 8, 2021. Enjoy Reno's PGA golf tournament, the only one in northern California / Nevada. The tournament is played at Tahoe Mountain Club's Old Greenwood Golf Course in Truckee, CA. This is a charity event with live television coverage on the Golf Channel. Tickets are available online.

Hot August Nights in Reno and Sparks - Tuesday through Sunday, August 3 - 8, 2021. There is so much happening I couldn't even begin to list it, so refer to the Hot August Nights event schedule to see what is going on when and where. The whole Hot August Nights website is excellent and can probably answer just about all of your questions.

Lazy 5 Summer Music Series - Wednesday, August 4, 6:30 p.m. This series of free concerts includes a food truck and mobile pub available during each show. Bring blankets and low-back chairs to get comfortable on the lawn. The show this evening features The Bayberry Cast playing jazz / Latin / funk. Additional shows are on August 11, 18 and 25, 2021.

Reno Aces Baseball - August 5 - 10, 2021. The Aces take on the Tacoma Rainiers for this six game homestand. On August 26 - 31, it's home again against the Sacramento River Cats.

Discover Your Parks Walks - Thursday, August 5, 2021. Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation is leading free walks in different parks located in Washoe County from April through September, 2021. This first August walk will be at Idlewild Park Park. Others will be on August 12, 19 and 26. Walks start at 6 p.m.

Bacon, Bourbon and Brews from CARE Chest of Sierra Nevada - Friday, August 6, 2021. Visit the website for details as they become available.

Galena Campfire Program Series - Friday, August 6, 2021, 8:30 p.m. This week's program is about bears, presented by the Nevada Department of Wildlife. The programs are free, though donations are welcomed to support the program. Bring your own treats to enjoy around the campfire at 8:00 p.m. Eagle Meadow, Galena Creek Regional Park, North Entrance, 18250 Mt. Rose Hwy., Reno. The final program of the season is on August 13, 2021. This program will feature star gazing with the Astronomical Society of Nevada.

Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series at the Brewery Arts Center - Saturday, August 7, 2021, 7 p.m. Featuring The Fire. These are all free outdoor shows shows. The public is invited to bring their own picnics, blankets and lawn chairs to the concerts, which will have an open setting. There will be food trucks, drink vendors and kid's activities at every concert. The Levitt AMP concert series is located at 449 West King Street at the corner of King and Minnesota Streets in Carson City. The next show is on August 14, featuring Southern Drawl Band.

Valley Amigos "Family Farm Days" at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park - Saturday, August 2021, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meet farm animals, explore the Discovery Room and have fun. Free for the whole family. Come to the Nevada Farms and Families area at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park, 1595 N. Sierra St., Reno.

2021 Back to School Vaccination Events - Saturday, August 7 and 14, 2021, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Washoe County Health District – Immunization Program, Community Health Alliance (CHA) and Immunize Nevada are hosting three Back To School Vaccination events. Insurance is not required. The immunizations are required for students at Washoe County schools diseases. The vaccines, which include DTap/DT, IPV, MMR and more, will be available at the Health District, 1001 E. 9th St., Building B lobby. Immunizations will be administered in private patient rooms inside the clinic. COVID-19 vaccines will also be available for anyone 12 years and older. Appointments are not required but encouraged, and can be made online, or call 775-328-2402.

007 The Music of James Bond - Wednesday, August 11, 2021. When it comes to the music of James Bond, nobody Does it better than the Reno Phil. Broadway stars Hugh Panaro and Morgan James headline the show at Greater Nevada Field in Reno. The 25 Bond films that span five decades have produced some of the greatest movie music in history. The Reno Phil will be led by Maestro Jason Altieri. Gates open at 6:30 p.m., concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and will end with a fireworks display. Tickets are available online.

"Annie the Musical" at Bartley Ranch Regional Park - August 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 22, 27, and 28, 2021. Gates open at 6:45 p.m., show starts at 7:30 p.m. Sierra School of Performing Arts presents Annie at the Robert Z. Hawkins Amphitheater, a wonderful venue to watch live theater under the stars on a warm summer night. Enjoy a picnic dinner before the performance. The classic Broadway musical boasts a cast of 40 talented local performers, ages 9-68. Tickets are available online.

Hands ON! Second Saturdays - Saturday, August 14, 2021. Come to the Nevada Museum of Art for a day of fun family activities and free admission for all, sponsored by the Estelle J. Kelsey Foundation. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Extend your experience with Hands ON! at Home.

Science Saturdays at the National Automobile Museum - Saturday, August 14, 2021. Join in on an adventure that is out of this world. Tickets are sold per family group starting at $36. Admission is limited to 8 groups. For participants age 8 and up. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. The event is from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pre-registration is required approximately two days before the event. Call the Museum at (775) 333-9300 for more information.

Dirty Cello at Piper's Opera House in Virginia City - Saturday, August 14, 2021, 7 p.m. A four-piece string ensemble that truly pushes the envelope and breaks the barriers, they blend blues, bluegrass and world music sounds with roots in the world of European classical music in a style that is unique and refreshing. Piper's Opera House is at 12 B St., Virginia City. Tickets are available online.

Reno-Tahoe Senior Summer Games - August 16 through September 1, 2021. The Reno-Tahoe Senior Summer Games is a program of competitions styled after the real Olympic Games and designed for area citizens age 50 and above. The basic registration fee for all participants is $30. There is an additional fee for each sport. Get the details and links to registration at "2021 Reno-Tahoe Senior Summer Games."

Raise the River - Thursday, August 19, 2021, 5:30 p.m. You are invited to the annual Raise the River fundraising event for Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB). It will be in the Sensory Garden at Idlewild Park in Reno. The evening offers a sensory experience with local craft drinks and interactive sensory activities, along with a local-focused, sit-down dinner prepared by chef Mark Estee of Liberty Food and Wine Exchange. This is a 21+ event. Tickets and tables are available online.

Reno Local Food Faire - Thursday, August 19, 2021, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Local farms, local artists, melon and garlic eating contests, pie baking contests, and more. Join our old-fashioned celebration of good, clean food grown just miles away from our homes. At McKinley Arts & Culture Center, 925 Riverside Dr. in Reno.

3rd Thursday in Downtown Sparks - Thursday, August 19, 2021, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Sparks Museum and Cultural Center, 39 North Downtown, and Sierra Arts Foundation, along with the City of Sparks, have created a downtown experience with art surrounding the Sparks Arts Walk: music, poetry reading, performances, art tours with food and kids activities. Every month, we invite you to come downtown to enjoy the museum, train and historical schoolhouse. Every month brings new items to explore.

35th Annual Bowers Mansion Bluegrass Festival - Friday through Sunday, August 20 - 22, 2021, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This year's festival includes a free Friday Night Show, Saturday Festival and Sunday Morning Gospel Show. New this year, the Reno Rotary Club will host a beer and wine garden. Tickets are available online. Bowers Mansion is at 4005 Bowers Mansion Road in Washoe Valley.

Northern Nevada International Dragon Boat Festival - Saturday, August 21, 2021. This event is free for spectators and will be at Sparks Marina Park. Fun for the entire family. The festival features all-day racing, local vendors, entertainment, Health and Wellness Village, Beer Garden, Food Truck Bazaar and more. It benefits Immunize Nevada. (775) 353-2376.

Reno Wine Walk - Saturday, August 21, 2021, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Riverwalk Merchants present this fun event every third Saturday of the month. Visit any of the participating merchants with $30 and receive your wine glass and hand stamp (with photo ID), then make the rounds sampling wines at numerous businesses in the area. Nitro Circus at Greater Nevada Field - Sunday, August 22, 2021, 6 p.m. Join as at Greater Nevada Field as Nitro Circus' roster of elite athletes, including champion BMX and scooter rider Ryan Williams as well as skilled professionals in freestyle motocross (FMX), skate and more, brave the world's largest jumps. The legendary 45-foot Giganta ramp will launch athletes into the sky at 40 miles per hour while moto riders will send it 65-feet high. Tickets and experience packages are available online.

Burning Man 2021 - A Virtual Burning Man Experience will play out from August 22 through September 7, 2021. Tune in to enjoy Burning Man without the dust.

Reno Aloha Festival - Saturday, August 28, 2021, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The annual Reno Aloha Festival is at Reno's Wingfield Park. This free event is a cultural showcase, preserving the unique traditions of the Hawaiian Islands. Experience the Pacific Islands in dance, music and food. Shop the various vendors selling Polynesian merchandise and let the kids enjoy Keiki Village for fun interactive activities such as arts/crafts, hula lessons and Island stories.

Tahoe Brewfest - Saturday, August 28, 2021, 12 noon to 4 p.m. Tahoe Brewfest brings together the best craft brews from California and around the country.
