Discover Science Lecture - A Night with National Geographic - Thursday, April 2, 2026, 7 p.m. Please join us for a Milt Glick Discover Science Lecture, featuring Dr. Ian Miller, Chief Science & Innovation Officer of the National Geographic Society, for an epic journey as we travel from the time of the dinosaurs to the present and explore how 100 million years of change shaped the American West. The lecture is free, but you are asked to register to attend.

Easter Sunday - April 5, 2026.

Free Easter Egg Hunts - Saturday and Sunday, April 4 - 5, 2026. There are several free Easter Egg hunts around Reno and up at Lake Tahoe on this Easter weekend. Some of these are big productions. Check out my list to find one near you.

Easter Brunch and Dining in Reno and Sparks - Sunday, April 5, 2026. You don't have to cook up a big meal on this holiday. Enjoy Easter Sunday brunch or dinner at any of several venues around the Reno / Sparks area.

Reno Aces Baseball - Tuesday, April 7, 2026. The Aces play the Salt Lake Bees at Greater Nevada Field, first pitch at 6:05 p.m. The series continues with home games from April 8 - 12, 2026.

"Toytopia" at the Wilbur D. May Museum - through April 26, 2026. Both grown-ups and kids will enjoy "Toytopia." It is inspirational for children and adults who can revisit fun times from childhood. This popular exhibit features everything from tried and true classics to modern digital games, with highlights like those listed here, and more. Don't just look at toys, play with them, too. Special group rates are available. The entry fee is $13 for adults, $11 for children 3 to 17 and seniors. Kids under 3 are free. Hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 12 noon to 4 p.m. The museum located in Reno's Rancho San Rafael Regional Park.

Grow Your Own, Nevada! Gardening Classes - Tuesday, April 7, 2026, first class of series. Classes are offered online only. They start 6 p.m. at on Tuesdays and Thursdays in April. Classes are free, but you still must register to attend the online classes. It's not super easy, but you can grow a vegetable garden and other plants in the high desert of Reno and northern Nevada.

"Swan Lake" at the Pioneer - Saturday and Sunday, April 11 - 12, 2026. 7 p.m. on Saturday, 2 p.m. on Sunday. The Reno Philharmonic Orchestra will perform the haunting score to this wonderful ballet. Re-staged and re-choreographed by Alexander Van Alstyne, Swan Lake is the story of Odette who was turned into a swan by the evil sorcerer Von Rothbart. She tells the handsome Prince Siegfried that the only way the spell can be broken is if a man, pure in heart, pledges his love to her. The Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts is at 100 S. Virginia Street in Reno.

Baby Animal Days and Tulip Bloom at Andelin Family Farm -Each activity is ticketed separately. Baby Animal Days is from April 15 to May 30, 2026. Tulip Bloom is March 27 to April 11, 2026. There are a variety of tickets options available online. The farm is at 8100 Pyramid Way in Sparks. (775) 530-8032.

Hands ON! Second Saturday at the Nevada Museum of Art - Saturday, April 11, 2026. Come to the Nevada Museum of Art for fun for the whole family, including storytelling, art activities, live performances, and all current exhibits. Admission to the Museum is free for all on Second Saturdays.

Festival of Colors - Saturday, April 11, 2026, 12 noon to 5 p.m. This multicultural event brings the community together with live music, DJs, dancing, yoga, food and drink, a kids' area, arts and crafts, color throwing and more. No outside colors, food or drink. Visit the website for online tickets and more information. At Rancho San Rafael Regional Park, 1595 N. Sierra St. in Reno.

Reno Riverwalk Wine Walk - Saturday, April 18, 2026. The Riverwalk Merchants present this fun event every third Saturday of the month. Tickets available online or you can purchase the day of the event. This is a 21+ event. Pets and strollers are not advised. For more information, call 775-825-WALK(9255).

A Little Dose of WonderGrass - Saturday, April 18, 2026 - 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. This show is at Palisades Tahoe. Join us for a free show at the KT Deck for Broken Compass Bluegrass, Pickin' On The Dead, and sweet WonderGrass vibes. The venue is the Village at Palisades Tahoe ski resort, south of Truckee off Highway 89.

Junior Ranger Adventure Day at Crystal Peak Park - Saturday, April 18, 2026, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. We'll talk about the natural and human history of Crystal Peak Park and have some fun activities. Event is free but pre-registration is required. Contact Ranger Nick at 775-164-2955 for more information. Crystal Peak Park is at 561 Crystal Park Rd. in Verdi.

Social Science: Y2K - Saturday, April 18, 2026, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Celebrate the science, technology, and pop culture surrounding one of the most famous non-events in history. Party like it's 1999 when you delve into activities inspired by the late 90s and early 2000s including booyah buttons, PS2 battles, millennium snapshots, Y2K fashion faux paus, and much more. 21+ event at The Discovery Museum, 490 S. Center Street in Reno. $20 museum members, $25 non-members, $30 at the door.

Science Distilled: Drive-in for Science - Saturday, April 25, 2026, 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. At this Science Distilled event, explore the groundbreaking work of dedicated fishers, aqua farmers, and scientists who are attempting what was once thought impossible: harvesting aquatic species to feed our growing planet while also saving our oceans. $7 - $10 for museum members, $9 - $12 non-members. You can purchase tickets online. Presented by the Discovery Museum at the West Wind El Rancho Drive-In Theater, 555 El Rancho Drive in Sparks.

Reno Earth Day Celebration - Saturday, April 18, 2026. Come to Idlewild Park between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to enjoy Reno's big annual Earth Day celebration. There will be numerous events, exhibitors, food and drink, live entertainment, and activities for both kids and adults. Annual Reno Jazz Festival - Thursday through Saturday, April 23 - 25, 2026. With our full schedule of varied events, from quality performance reviews to big-name concerts, we aim to inspire and educate the next generation of jazz musicians. On the UNR campus at Nightingale Concert Hall. Check the website for shows, locations and other details. There are a number of ticket options available online.

55th Annual Virginia City Grand Prix - Friday through Sunday, April 24 - 26, 2026. Experience legendary racing in historic Virginia City where thousands of motocross riders challenge themselves in the surrounding hills. Racing takes place all days. Attending the event is free. This being Virginia City, there will be lots of related activities and things to do while the motocross racers are zipping through town and around the rugged high desert.

Reno Mimosa Day Crawl - Saturday, April 25, 2026, noon to 6 p.m. This is something a bit different - an afternoon event. The event has prizes for group costumes, features 25+ venues in downtown Reno, and has limited tickets that will probably sell out. Mimosa Day is a chance to soak up some rays in a relaxed atmosphere where we can all enjoy some good bubbly, listen to some tunes and stroll around hitting up our favorite bars. Farm Day at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park - Sunday, April 26, 2026, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Taking place in the Nevada Farms and Families area of Rancho San Rafael Park, this family friendly event is a fun opportunity to visit with farm animals and enjoy activities related to all things parks and agriculture. Rancho San Rafael Regional Park is at 1595 N. Sierra Street in Reno.

Factories in the Sky: Building the Space Economy One Payload at a Time - Thursday, April 30, 2026, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. What if the next blockbuster medical device was manufactured not in a cleanroom on Earth, but in orbit? Ecoatoms is turning that vision into reality by designing automated payload, small "habitats" that transform any spacecraft into a cutting-edge manufacturing lab. In this talk, CEO Dr. Solange Massa will share the exciting story of real missions like A.R.E.S. on Blue Origin's NS rocket and other space research. KTMB Great Community Clean-Up - Saturday, May 2, 2026, 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Join Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB) for the annual Great Community Cleanup. This event focuses on the cleanup of illegal dump sites and noxious weeds in the open spaces surrounding the Truckee Meadows. Every year hundreds of volunteers come together to clean up our community. You will be able to choose from over 20 sites throughout the Truckee Meadows open-spaces. There will be a volunteer appreciation picnic after the clean-up with free food and drink.
