Yuck! That's the likely reaction kids (and adults) will have while visiting the "Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body" exhibit at Reno's Wilbur D. May Museum. Have fun while being grossed out from January 3 through April 26, 2015.

"Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body" takes a look at bodily functions most people would rather not talk about even though we all have to deal with them. Grossology explores the human body and how it works with a variety of interactive elements, animatronics, and games. Here are a few things to look forward to.

  • Learn how boogers are formed by launching dirt balls into a really big nose.
  • Play the "Gas Attack" pinball game and learn about foods that make you toot.
  • The "Burp Machine" releases a giant belch while teaching what causes acid indigestion.
  • Why do we throw up? Visit the "Vomit Center" to find the answers.
  • Discover how food becomes waste - a yucky ride on the GI slide.
  • The skin climbing wall features holds that are pimples, warts, and scabs.

The entry fee to Grossology is $9 for adults, $8 for children. Group rates and tours are available. Call (775) 785-5961 for more information. Hours at the Wilbur D. May Museum are Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 12 noon to 4 p.m. The museum is closed on Monday and Tuesday.

The Wilbur D. May Center is located in Rancho San Rafael Regional Park at 1595 N. Sierra Street in Reno. There is plenty of free parking right next to the museum.
